The fox belongs to the dog family which also includes wolves and coyotes. Foxes are solitary animals but they may form social groups. Foxes are nocturnal animals and are good night time predators but they usually hunt alone. They can sometimes be seen in urban areas during the day. The fox is a very resourceful animal and has adapted to live in a range of different habitats, many foxes can be found in urban areas as there is an abundant source of food and overgrown areas and spaces provide shelter.
